The 15th Annual International Maritime Law Seminar was to be held in London on October 8, 2020. Unfortunately, that forum, just like the one in Singapore that was scheduled for May 2020, had to be cancelled as a consequence of the COVID pandemic and public regulations. We are pleased to report that the Members of the IMLS have put together a compendium of articles on recent developments in the maritime law around the world in hopes that it will “fill the gap” and provide some important information for the industry during this turbulent time.

From 18 November 2019 onwards, over 800 of the superyacht industry’s most powerful minds, influencers and key decision-makers, will gather in Amsterdam to kick off the 26th edition of The Superyacht Forum in association with METSTRADE. This year’s three day programme, comprising inspirational keynotes and dynamic workshop sessions aims to be a wake-up call for the industry and drive evolution in technology and business for the next generation.

Hosted towards the end of September each year, the Monaco Yacht Show attracts hundreds of exhibiting companies, some of the world’s biggest brokerages and shipyards, and over 30,000 visitors to explore and discover  the leading innovations and influential designs in the yachting industry.

The International Maritime Law Seminar, now in its 13th year, will take place in London at Gibson Hall on 4 October 2018. With an average attendance of more than 250 Insurance and Maritime Law specialists, the International Maritime Law Seminar has grown from a small event to one of the most heavily anticipated legal seminar in London. Our firm is one of the organisers of the Seminar. The half-day seminar is complimentary.

From 27 until 29 September 2018 the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) organized a seminar in Marseille titled ‘Shipping 4.0: Sailing the Digital Wave’. Young lawyers from all over the world came together and discussed all areas of digitalization in shipping. From E-Bills of Lading to block chain and from autonomous vessels to cyber security. The latter subject was also the topic of the presentation given by Jennifer Hoovers of our firm, who focused on how the Port of Rotterdam is currently handling cyber security.
